The People Behind the Frontier
GoldCoast Resource Corp. is led by a team of mining legends, world-class geologists, and capital markets specialists united by a singular conviction: Ghana's offshore gold frontier is real, and the time to move is now.
The Team Defining a New Frontier
Sir Sam Jonah
Chairman
Sir Sam Jonah KBE is widely regarded as the most prominent figure in Ghanaian mining history. As CEO of Ashanti Goldfields Company, he transformed it from a state-owned enterprise into Africa’s largest gold mining company and the first African company listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
He subsequently served as President of AngloGold Ashanti, one of the world’s largest gold producers. In 2003, he became the first Ghanaian to be knighted in the 21st century, receiving the Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire for his contributions to mining and international business.
Sir Sam brings unparalleled credibility, an extensive network across African mining and government, and decades of operational leadership to GoldCoast Resource Corp.
Dr. R.J. Griffis
SVP Exploration
Dr. R.J. Griffis is a distinguished geologist and the author of “The Gold Deposits of Ghana” (2002), the definitive reference on Ghanaian gold geology. His work has shaped the understanding of gold mineralization patterns across the Ashanti Belt and broader West African craton.
With decades of exploration experience spanning Ghana, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Guinea, Dr. Griffis brings deep geological expertise to GoldCoast’s offshore exploration thesis. He leads the technical strategy connecting onshore geological knowledge to the company’s offshore license areas.
Michael Nikiforuk
Founder & Director
Michael Nikiforuk is the visionary behind GoldCoast Resource Corp. and the architect of its first-mover strategy in offshore gold exploration on Ghana’s continental shelf. He identified the opportunity to apply known onshore geological frameworks to unexplored shallow water environments.
His ability to assemble a world-class team, secure extensive mineral licenses, and position the company at the forefront of a new exploration frontier has made GoldCoast a unique proposition in the junior resource sector.
